wood spoons

here are some better photos of the wood spoons and bead combo i put together to take to buckeye with me. they are made of California Bay, and Bottle brush (ohia).  each spoon took about half a day over some time to carve down and sand. i use a fine 600 grit sand paper finish, and they are made with the intention as medicine spoons, for those deep mason jars of wild crafted dried medicine and teas.

Beads and wood Spoons.

Just thought i would post these photos of some crafts i was doing in advance of Buckeye primitive skills gathering for trading. and trade i did! i traded or sold almost all of my beads and wood spoons for a variety of interesting items including dried cooking herbs, a hand forged knife and sheathe, and tinctures. 

also is a photo of a Manzanita jewelry tree i made for Meredith to hang her earrings and such on. iv been toying with a simple design like this for a few years now, originally conceiving the idea for a friends clothing shop back on Long Island. 

i will be posting soon (hopefully) of a new workshop and space to set up for Olema Art and Design... the new glass bead operation i will be attempting and soon to follow maybe, possibly, art collective.... if all goes to devious plan....
